(Introduction to bra pattern cutting and manufacture)
This course is aimed at anyone interested in Learning how to
measure the body accurately and translate measurements into
patterns for bra’s. It is a well known fact that a large
number of women in the U.K today are wearing the wrong fitting
bra’s. The course offer’s an opportunity for individuals to attain skill
and knowledge, leading to a better understanding of bra fitting and
construction. Students will pattern cut and manufacture a standard
34b bra plus matching pants
The course will be suitable for any fashion graduate past or
present. Any one wanting to further enhance pattern cutting
Skills and knowledge. Beginners wanting to learn how to Pattern
cut for bra’s.
Objectives
To consider the physiological changes that effect bra fit
To look at individual body shape in relation to bra fit
Basic block, pattern construction for bra’s to reflect body shape
To understand drafting requirements for different bra styles
Material use in bra manufacture and the effect on fit
Recognition of successful procedure to attain a good first fit
Block pattern grading
